FAQ

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Attending this hackathon is free.

Do I need any special skills to attend or compete?

No, but some skills will help! Hackathons are primarily attended by people looking to pick up or improve new skills, so if you’re totally new to all of this that’s okay! We’re happy to help provide learning resources for you to take advantage of.

What are the rules of this competition?

Participants will all begin the event at the same time, and must start their projects from scratch. In addition, all participants must follow the MLH Code of Conduct, which will be enforced.

What sort of projects can be entered?

Any original technical project you can think of and create will be accepted.

What will be provided for participants?

Food and snacks will be provided, as well as some educational, technical, and hardware resources. However, you are welcome to bring or purchase your own! We also recommend that you bring anything you may need to more comfortably stay overnight.

What if there is a change of plans or emergency?

For a change of plans, we will send an email to the email address that you give us when you sign up. You are also welcome to give us a safety contact so that in the event of an emergency we can get in touch with that individual.

Will there be travel reimbursements?

We cannot offer travel reimbursements at this time.
